Hello Kitty Cocktail

That's all.

I can't even right now.

Movie Review - The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

Last weekend, I got the opportunity to finally catch The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

I'm a big fan of The Hunger Games; I would place this trilogy right after Harry Potter if I'm being serious. It's really dramatic, well written and keeps you on edge.

If you ask me, personally I don't think this film should have been split into two parts because the story isn't even that long! But, for marketing purposes, I suppose it'd make more money in the long run.

Mockingjay is the third and final installment of The Hunger Games series. It instantly picks off where Katniss is rescued after destroying the previous games. In this film, she's the symbol of hope and retaliation against the Capital and all the districts are going into war.

Here's the thing about Mockingjay Part 1: it's a filler.

It ends of right at the climax of all the action (if you follow the books). It is literally a two hours tease for Part 2. It's ridiculous.

The first hour of the film is boring. Yes, it is. My friend was about to fall asleep because it was really dry. This movie lacked action... a lot of action. Yes, there were scenes of things blowing up but that only lasted for about two minutes. The most dramatic scene was perhaps when Katniss finally reunites with Peeta, and if you've seen the film, you'll understand why. And hopefully agree as well.

Admittedly, Jennifer Lawrence's acting was great, as it can get in this film. I think this film really suppressed her acting skills, but don't get me wrong, there are scenes where the killed it, but overall, JLaw's talents were held back tremendously. There's a lot more Liam Hemsworth than in the previous two combined but he utters a few sentences that makes you question his acting abilities. Then there's Josh Hutcherson that makes you cringe everytime he comes on the screen because that's one ugly tuxedo he wears in this film.

Is this film worth it? If you're a big fan, sure, it's worth it. If you're not, you can personally skip this one and probably pick up all the action in part two. I was warned that this movie was a filler but I went in with somewhat high expectations.

Lower your expectations. The previous two films were great for me, and unfortunately this one was a let down.

Have you guys seen Mockingjay Part 1 yet?
Did it blow you away or did you walk out of the theaters saying, "Eh..."?

Product Review: Clarisonic Mia Cleansing System

Hellllo beauty lovers! I'm back with another review, this time for the iconic Clarisonic cleansing system!

For those who aren't aware of this tool, it's a facial cleanser than cleans deeply into your pores to remove make up, oil and build up. It's highly raved about and consider the best tool in the market. It boasts that it can clean up your face in just one minute!

I originally purchased this product because I was looking for something to clear up my blackheads. The beauty adviser from Shoppers recommended this tool and claimed that it helped with his blackheads too. I originally thought it was too much (retails at about $145CAD) just to clean out my blackheads but the adviser told me all the benefits and promised that I'd get my money back guaranteed if I don't like it.

Upon first impression (after getting over the high price tag), I was a bit turned off by the one minute timer. I mean, it's not the end of the world but after one minute, the tool powers off and you gotta turn back on. It's just a hassle because I want something that is powered on until I feel like my skin is clean enough. The brush head is soft and doesn't damage your skin. It's the default brush head so for those with more sensitive skin or a rougher cleaner, you'll need to cough up additional $50+ for alternative brush heads. On top of that, Clarisonic also recommends you replace your brush head every 3 months.

The package comes with a sample size cleanser for the system. It's recommended that you purchase their cleanser to use with the system but it actuality, it's perfectly fine to use any other cleanser as you wish. The good ones to use are the ones that foams up!

I've been using it for nearly a month, and to be honest, I'm disappointed by the product.

After forking out almost $200 for this system, I wanted my face to feel fresh, or at least, my blackheads gone. I've been using their cleanser and using mine and NOTHING works. The annoying 1 minute time still gets to me but on top of that, I just feel like it's not doing much. It's uncomfortable when I put the system on my nose to clear my blackheads.

It doesn't do anything. My blackheads aren't disappearing and reappearing, they just sit there like they've never been touched.

(And, I ended up buying a cleanser that ACTUALLY cleared up my blackheads for a fraction of the price of a Clarisonic!)

After a month of no clear results on my face, I decided to claim my money back with their 90 days money-back guarantee.

Here's another kicker. Their customer service sucks! I called their support line to start my return process and the line cuts me off. I sent them emails after weeks later, still no response. I can't return it to Shoppers and I think Clairsonic (as a business) doesn't want retailers taking them back. So, I believe if you ever decide to return Clarisonic, you need to contact the company themselves to start the process.

I wear minimal make up and my skin is generally in good health. This product is probably suited for those that wear a lot of heavy make up and/or have troubled skin such as oily skin or acne problems. Their customer service sucks SO be sure that you really want to invest a few hundred dollars on a system that might or might not work for you!

A lot of people rave about this product, but, unfortunately, I don't think my skin needs this product and now I'm stuck trying to contact Clarisonic for a refund.

If you're blessed with good skin and you're trying to target a specific area, don't invest in Clarisonic, regardless of all the positive reviews. It's probably not meant for you and you (and your wallet) is better off buying special scrubs/lotions to target your areas.

Introducing my 3rd Tattoo!

Who knows, this might be my last tattoo I'd get!

If you don't know by now, I'm planning to leave Vancouver in the next two years so. A lot of people may think, "psh, two years is a long way from now!" and if you are one of them, weeeeeell, you gotta look into your life because honey, time is FLYING by way, way, way too fast... seriously, it's the end of 2014 soon!

So yeah, 2 years may sound long but in reality, it flies by.
After procrastinating long enough, I finally got around to designing my third tattoo - a tribute to my home city.

It'll be my first coloured tattoo and I'm excited for that. My original plan was to keep it simple - just an umrella with rain drops and YVR's coordinates. Then I saw a few skyline tattoos and fell in love with it, except that the skyline tattoo would require more skin. I want to keep it simple, small and perhaps on the back of my neck or just below my neck.

Here's my design(s):

#1-4 is my original concept. I originally wanted it straight up but the diagonal designs add a bit of "umph" to it, just because it's diagonal, you know what I'm saying?

I also added two versions of it: one simple (4 rain drops) and one with a bit more raindrops (6 drops). I originally liked the concept of 4 raindrops until I experimented with 6 raindrops and loved it even more!

The skyline tattoo is Vancouver's waterfronts. There's a bigger one and a smaller cropped one. I enjoy the bigger one but like I said, I don't have anywhere on my skin to do that unless I put it sideways on my thigh or something - even then I'm not sure if I want a skyline. If I opted for the smaller design, I'd have it on my forearm. However, the skyline designs might even be out of the question because of all the fine details that are pretty small.

Right now, I'm leaning towards design #4 because it's pretty much what I envisioned prior to designing it. I thought about having the words, Vancouver, BC buuuut coordinates look soooo much better, haha.

Which design do you think is good?

Life Tips: Record Your (Important) Meetings

2014 has a shit year in terms of finances.
Yes, you heard right, finances.

I sound like I'm in a mountain full of debt right?

This year has taught me one thing: audio record all your important meetings.
Yeah, that didn't cross your mind, did it?

Speaking from experiences, I've been screwed over twice this year in contracts that amounts to my debt.

Incident #1 -
I REALLY wish I can tell you the name of this "business" that screwed me over 22k buuuut, in fear of any legality issues of 'defaming' them (it's a small business), I won't. But trust me, I wish nothing more than to see this company burn down and all the staff members desperately try to look for jobs.

Basically, this "company" is a college. A vocational college to be exact (or also known as career colleges). Before I start this rant story, keep this in mind: my goal was to get a diploma (1.5 yrs), use that diploma to get a job for approx. 3-5 years for the required experience to get HR certificated BUT during those years I'm working, study part time online towards my Bachelor's. Because, to get HR certified, you need a minimum of 3 years work experience in the HR field before they even allow you to take the exam - at the same time, in order to take the exam, you also need a Bachelor's degree. See how my awesome plan ties everything together?!

So (I'll try to keep this as short as possible), after reviewing their website countless of times and feeling the urge to get more info, I arranged a meet up with the school. On that day, I took along my best friend to sit down with me and get a sense of this school. We met up with Tarah*. I had a list of questions that MUST be answered to ensure my decision to enroll in this school. My MAIN question that would make or break my enrollment was this:
Can I transfer my diploma to SFU? (a local university)

And Tarah replied with "Yeah, you can transfer it to SFU, to UBC, pretty much to any university".
She also added the guaranteed co-op (work experience for students), would also be paid.

So, in the end, I chose this school because unlike the other school that offered HR programs, this school was transferable, AND paid co-op/work experience AND it was shorter than the other programs. Sound like the perfect match for my perfect plan, right?

Fast forward after a year or so.
Here's what I noticed about the school:
- Students complaining about their co op options. Apparently they're being offered positions that requires you to clean a bathroom in a yoga studio and a bunch of shitty co ops that doesn't match their studies. I was offered a marketing position but I was studying HR AND by the time my scheduled co-op term begins, the school hasn't found anything (the school promised they'll find a co op for us, the students don't really have to search)
- I'm starting to hear rumors that we can't transfer our diplomas
- This rumour is then clarified as the truth. At this point, I was pretty pissed off and asked if there's other alternatives
- Campus director told me to do a "Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition". This service was later deemed unsuccessful because my diploma isn't registered under the Canada Universities and Colleges. Also, this service nearly cost me $750 out of my own pocket.
- Out of all (4 in total) the HR students, I paid the most for my tuition because 1) Tarah knew I came from another university but didn't ask for my transcript so I paid for courses that I could have transferred in and 2) I signed up 3 months before they drastically changed their prices and they won't acknowledge a price change.
- Paid co-ops was a lie AND it's not a guarantee

And among other things. By the time I completed all my courses, I didn't get my co op yet so I literally spent a month at home, spending my own time and resources, to apply for co-ops for myself, a service the school offered to do. On top of that, I didn't receive ANY help from the staff members, shitty eh?

After finding out that I couldn't transfer this diploma ANYWHERE, I requested to seek a refund of at least 50% of my tuition. After a nasty battle, I lost because in the end, I still signed the contract, regardless of what was told to me. I presented my case as signing a contract under misrepresentation but because I didn't have any evidence (and my friend can't serve as witness), I couldn't get the refund. I also found out that Tarah got fired and there's no way in contacting her again. I would like to proceed with the Better Business Bureau but at the same I'm so tired of fighting this school. Plus, I studied law and business law and legally speaking, I would lose in a court battle as well.

Sooo, goodbye 22k. 22k spent for NOTHING. I literally handed 20 grand to these assholes.
I wish I can go back time and hit record on my stupid iPhone. On top of that, after sending out angry tweets about this school, they've threaten me that they can sue me for defamation. (Which brings the question, how is it a defamation when my review on the school is an honest and truthful experience?)

Incident #2 -
This is with Steve Nash, a popular gym in the city. They're well known for being the city most overpriced gym but I chose to sign up because it's the closest facility to where I live.

When I agreed to make an appointment to check out the gym, I was greeted by Brian* and he gave me a tour around the gym and sold me its perks. I checked online and the gym looks pretty cool. When we finally got around to talking about the prices, he broke it down to three membership levels:
Level 1 - access to the several locations around the lower mainland
Level 2 - Zumba classes, several locations & Yaletown access
Level 3 - all of level 1 and 2.

I used to be a dancer back in high school and I figured Zumba might be pretty fun, even though I've never done it. I was a bit hesitant in choosing level 2 but I asked Brian if it's possible to downgrade my membership if I don't like Zumba. He said it's possible BUT it's just a hassle. I'll have to call HQ. That I don't mind doing so I agreed to level 2 membership. Brian did NOT tell me that there's a contract to maintain.

After a couple of months or so of using the gym, I realized I don't have the time or schedule to fit the Zumba classes. I emailed Brian to get a downgrade in my membership and he replied back in the email that I need to commit to one year of level 2 membership. I was beyond piss because he NEVER mentioned anything about commitment or a contract! Besides, I'm NOT even leaving the gym, I just want a cheaper membership. On top of that, I'm also purchasing their personal trainer sessions and they can't give me a break on my membership?!

I know a gym membership isn't THAT much but as a student AND the fact that I'm not using their Zumba classes or Yaletown location, I'm pretty much handing over free money every month.

I now have the audio recording app on my main apps page instead of in the all 'all apps' section (Android phone). It's not that I'm always out and about looking for expensive investments but it's nice to have that reassuring audio file whenever one of my services decides it's fun to pull one over me.

PLUS, (correct me if I'm wrong, any law students out there) I remember in my business law class, an oral confirmation can serve as a contract even though there's no proof of it. However, if you have proof (such as audio recording or signed paper), it's just a reassurance in case anything does go wrong.

Regardless of how reputable a company may be, eg. Steve Nash Fitness, just hit the record button when you sit down at the office. You can always store it in your cloud or on the computer so it's not even taking up storage in your phone.

A friendly tip, before you enter the company, stand in a quiet area (or do this at your home before leaving) and hit the record button and say something like, "March 25th, 2014. I am about to head out to meet up with (Suzy of) ABC company. This is regards to my refund complaint." Something like that. And, be sure to catch their name in the audio. I would say it's better off if that person introduced him/herself on tape but if you missed the opportunity and you're too shy to ask them to confirm themselves, just state their name and position on your own.

I wish that I knew this little tip before meeting up with any businesses that required my signature. It's such a little effort that could have saved me, well, pretty much 22k.

5 Reasons You Should Invest in a Personal Trainer

I don't like spending a lot of money on my services, I mean, c'mon, a girl gotta save for better things!
However, I do believe in investing on good services such as my education and yes, my personal trainer.

I feel extremely high maintenance to admit that I have a personal trainer but I know I need one.

I'm not particularly aiming to lose weight or change the way I look. I joined the gym because I realized how unfit I am and I wanted to gain weight (which in this case, is muscle) to be 110lbs so I can donate blood.

I have friends that are body builders and gym rats but they live mostly in Surrey and Richmond and they got a membership to their local gyms and don't want to pay the drop in fee for Steve Nash ($20-$25). I mean, why pay an extra $25 when you're already paying for a gym, right? Plus, not to mention the driving cost and parking for my friends.

I ain't holding a grudge on them or whatever, but it would've been cool if they were willing to train me instead. And, training a newbie requires A LOT of sessions which I wouldn't want them to pay and travel to my local gym for all those sessions.

Which is why I chose to invest in a personal trainer at Steve Nash and while it is pricy, I don't regret it and here's why:

1. I'm New
I've been the gyms but I don't know what to do or how to use most of the equipments. On top of that, I don't even know where to start. My PT showed so many workout moves that made my sessions fun! She also taught me how to use the machines and which machines to stay away from for my health and body. PT are there to be supportive and they're patient, especially with newbies like me. I gained a lot of information on working out, nutrition and my body since training with my PT!

2. Motivation
I'm a lazy person. The fact that I already paid for my PT sessions makes me attend them to get my money's worth. On top of that because I'm visiting the gym a lot, I feel motivated to attend even after my sessions with my PT. The motivation eventually turned into my love for attending the gym and it wouldn't happen without a PT. She taught me how fun the gym can me, and how the gym isn't intimidating.

3. Corrections
We can all go on FitSugar to get all the workout steps and there are videos and GIFs to demonstrate it but keep in mind these are professionals. No amount of details can make sure you're doing your work out properly. I thought I knew how to do squats but it turned out I didn't! I was doing one thing wrong which was throwing my entire squats off! My PT ended up fixing a lot of my corrections from lifting weights to push ups and even to my squats. A proper stance when doing workout makes sure you get the entire benefits of working out without straining any muscle or body parts. Really important that you don't injury yourself!

4. Nutrition on the Go
When you start committing to the gym or any physical activity, you need the correct diet to provide energy. My PT helped me out with nutrition and what's good for me and what's not. I'm a junkie - I look candy, junk food and fast food. Since hitting the gym, I haven't eaten fast food in forever! I opt for healthier choices and since exchanging numbers with my PT, she's always there to guide me through my options and what's the most beneficial for me!

5. On-going Support
Once your session with your PT is over, it's not the end. You'll form a friendship by the end of it all, trust me. You will get on going support from your PT whenever you stop by the gym. They'll check up on you and even give you advice as friends and not as a coach!

I know personal trainers can get expensive so make sure you put a lot of effort into your sessions! If you're dying to get a PT, consider asking for a payment plan. I've done it and split my session into two payments to make it more affordable for me.

For those who are workout queens, consider a free PT evaluation to ensure you're having the correct posture for your workout! They're only 30 minutes and free!

Personal trainers are an investment but if you're serious about your body and health, it'll pay off when you know how to workout correctly and safely. I honestly don't know what to do for firmer arms and bigger butt but after some sessions, I feel confident enough to start working out on my own and even give advice to others!

Good luck for those who are starting a new lifestyle (for the new year, perhaps??)!

Too Close for Comfort (First Date Turn Off)

This happened once upon a time ago.

I met this guy, we'll call him... Ian.
Ian and I hit it off very well. Conversation was flowing, no awkward silence, and mutual interests.

The first day we met, he ended up kissing me. A little bit by surprise buuuut what the hell, it happened. We agreed to go for a movie next week.

Fast forward a next few days we met up again on Tuesday. Keep in mind, this is our second time out together.

Like everyone else, the first thing we do is hug each other... that's pretty common, I do that with a lot of my friends. And then he kisses me on the cheek :/ this makes me irk.

After purchasing our tickets, we were deciding which popcorn drink combo to buy. I was facing the boards, and his body was turned sideways, facing me.

Seriously, the next thing I know, he has his arm around me and starts moving closer to my face. Like, it looked like he was sniffing my hair and then trying to bury his face in my shoulder.

C'mon, buddy.. .we're choosing a popcorn combo, NOT trying to get sexy time. I'm not oppose to PDA but it's not the right time, you know? We're trying to get food!

After the movies, we went to Chapters, a big bookstore. We got to the section where it's a bit more empty because no one goes towards the New Age and philosophy section. Plus, it was late in the evening already.

So, I'm just browsing books when he's behind me and literally starts putting his hands underneath my hoodie.

Now, let me tell you one thing. It's cold, so naturally I wore a cami underneath my hoodie (normally I don't wear anything) and tucked it into my jeans because the cami was longer than my hoodie.

THANK GOD FOR THAT CAMI FOR BREAKING THE SKIN TO SKIN CONTACT! He pulled away shortly when I moved to another section. Again, he comes up from behind, puts his hand underneath my hoodie, and starts kissing my ear.

Ugh, seriously, we're in a PUBLIC BOOKSTORE. Not even a taxi! It's not a "private" place or like a quiet corner at a club. We're in a bookstore with people browsing for good books.

I told him no and he instantly pulls away like he's just woken up. That's want I noticed. Ian is like in a daze when he gets touchy and pulls away like he's done something wrong.

This is a huge turn off for me. I don't mind if a guy is touchy if we're in a relationship. I don't mind being touchy in public if it's in a quiet/private area.

But honestly, second time meeting up and your hands are all over me? I would be extremely uncomfortable if I didn't have my cami on. I cringe just thinking about the possibility of skin to skin at the bookstore.

Ian told me he's a touchy type but I didn't think he was THAT touchy. I was so embarrassed by the way he acted when we were in the theaters and can't even imagine what the security cameras must look like at Chapters.

Sorry, Ian buuuut... being that touchy after knowing each other for only a 1.5 weeks is such a turn off!

And, when we parted ways, he kissed me a few times, it was even disgusting for me to do that in public. A quick kiss is okay, but ughhhh stop kissing me like 10 times just to part ways!

Business Review: Blanche McDonald Hair Services (Q&A Hair Salon)

If you don't know, I like to be thrifty without sacrificing a whole lot. Since growing out my pixie cut, I felt self conscious with my hair because it had no style and it was literally just a shapeless blob of hair. I also had a tail growing which made me the most self conscious.

I knew one thing: I'm not going back to the salon that gave me my pixie cut, and all the nearby salons were too expensive (we're talking starting $30-$50 for a women's cut)!I like student services because they're affordable and they actually do a great job! My last experience with a student salon was with VCC but I didn't feel like going back to VCC. I felt that Blanche McDonald would be a better choice since it's specialized in make-up/hair.

I paid $16 for my hair cut... yes, only $16 for a good hair cut compared to all the salons!

Upon arrival at Q&A Hair Salon, I was surprised at how spacious and lovely the place was! The staff greeted me instantly and I had no problem finding the salon. I was paired up with Raina, a lovely stylist with a great humour. I normally don't enjoy small talk but she was just sooo wonderful! I wish a successful career as a stylist when she heads back to Mexico!

Anyways, I explained to Raina what I wanted and showed her some photos. Unlike my experience with VCC, I was able to communicate with her effortlessly. There was no miscommunications whatsoever. Before the students start, they must complete their worksheets and have the instructor sign off and you also have to sign off acknowledging that they're students.

The entire process was refreshing. The instructor checked up on us frequently and even made suggestions on how to cut may hair!

It took longer than I expected but that's the thing about student salons - you pay a good price, good service but you need to allocate a few hours of your day. It's not like those quick cut and go sort of thing.

(And we all know how much time I have when I choose to procrastinate!)

I think the process took about two hours or so. There's a little bit of touch up here and there but nonetheless, it was a great experience with the Blanche McDonald hair services!

The prices are comparable to VCC but the quality isn't! This is soooo much better (sorry!) For a list of their prices, click here, however, I think they updated their prices without updating their website and the new prices are about a dollar or so more.

Overall, I'm probably going to come back for my highlights! I recommending this place to all my friends now instead of VCC.
Location: 410 Robson Street, Vancouver, BC
(Inside CurliQue Beauty Boutique)
Price: 5/5
Quality: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Highly recommended you try at least one of their services!

Why I Want to Leave Vancouver

I dislike Vancouver.
I mean, it's still my home city, it's the only place in this world I'd call home, but I'm not in love with it anymore. No amount of clear blue ocean and mountain views can make me fall in love with this city again.

Whenever I tell someone I'm planning to leave after graduation, they're usually shocked and ask why. I think a lot of people can see me living out my life in Vancouver and honestly, that's not as bad as it sounds. There's nothing wrong with staying in a city your entire life if the city is that damn good. My typical answer for wanting to move else where is "job opportunities and I've lived in Vancouver all my life, I want a change".

That's only half of it.

The real reason is the fact that Vancouver haunts me. Every inch of this city.
It's the city where I got my heart broken, where I've messed up in so many directions, where I got friendships that are so tainted.

Nearly every place in Vancouver is associated with bittersweet memories with people that touched my life, one way or another.

I do want a change. But I want to "start over". I want to leave all this behind and "begin again".
I fear that I might not succeed in the new city. I fear that I won't be able to find new friends or even a relationship in the new city. I'm afraid that I need help but I'm so far from my friends and family. I'm afraid that I'll be homesick and start missing Vancouver again.

I don't mind the struggle but I don't want those fears to happen. I don't want to return to Vancouver knowing I failed in "starting over". I mean, in a way, I got nothing to lose. If I don't succeed, I can always return back to Vancouver with support from friends and family.

My dream place would in New Zealand. Where? I'm not sure yet, but NZ.
A part of me wants to remain in Canada because, well, Canada is the best country in the world. If I choose to stay in CA, I'd choose between Edmonton and Nova Scotia.
My last choice would move down the America. Everyone knows Canadians got beef with Americans. If I ever do decide to head south, it'd be either Seattle or Portland (OR).

I got three years to think of everything. I got three years to see if Vancouver will be my home forever. A lot can happen in 3 years, a lot that I wish would happen but probably won't. I don't even know.

Can We Snapchat?

*This is my procrastination post. I should be studying for my midterm right now...

Ugh, I know I've said this about a thousands time but seriously, I've neglected this blog.. .again. It's been almost a month and I just got around to changing my profile to update my age to 21... T_T

Here's the good thing about being a student: I can use any excuse containing school, assignments and/or studying and you can't deny it. Because... that's what... students do...
So yeah, school has been taking up most of my time BUT trust me, I want to get back into blogging, SO MUCH that I'm gonna make a separate Google calendar to get back into blogging... hopefully, once a week?

So, let's play catch up again:

We celebrated Tania's birthday at Red Robin's! This is actually my first time trying out their onion rings and daaaamn, I could eat that right now!

Cold climate has reached Vancouver. All I want to do is stay in my blankets... seriously, it's freezing and my apartment is cold!

I'm currently prepping for my midterm and final exams for this semester. I can and I will brag that I finished 4 courses aka one semester in 1.5 months. That's the results of motivation and dedication. I'm still in awe that I'm capable of that. Granted, I did hate my pension plan course but I enjoyed this semester!

Remember how I joined the gym? One month later, I got a stronger back (look at that back muscle!) and a butt. I mean, it's not MUCH but it's still SOMETHING! Especially as a flat and thin girl, booty and muscle means something! I recommend doing soooo much more than just squats for those who want a booty... I did a two weeks squat challenge and the results are nowhere near this!

This time around, I chose to get Ticketmaster to send me the Canucks tickets BUT they're not like the Canucks designed tickets... do you get what I mean? lol, ugh, these are so ugly. Plot twist: these tickets aren't for me. I purchased these back in September for Sukh's birthday (which is in Jan).. yeah.. I like to think ahead. I hope he likes them (and brings me along! LOL I know it's a gift and I originally want him to go with his bro buuuuut... c'mon, I want to see my favourite boys in action!)

Before haircut

So, I got a haircut! My aunt couldn't tell the difference so in case you're like her too, I got a styled hairstyle. Since my pixie cut grew out, I had an ugly tail and it was a shapeless bob. I decided to get it stylized (above) with bangs and everything in the same length so it'd grow out nicely. Seriously, this is the last haircut in a while... I'm determined to grow my hair out! I might get highlights...

Perks of working at a dessert bakery?? Staff discount! I got this mousse cake for only $2... ugh, this place will get me fat, haha.

So, aside from studying, that's what I've been up to lately!

You will see my face... a lot.

Honesty Session

As you're reading this, I'm probably wrapping up my last final exam of the semester! I stole this from the wonderful Kendel!

You can tell how bored I am...

1. What is more difficult for you, looking into someones eyes when you are telling someone how you feel, or looking into someones eyes when they are telling you how they feel? Looking into someone's eyes when I'm telling them how I feel. It feels as though you're pouring your soul out for this person and they're seeing you fully naked and vulnerable.

2. Think of the last time you were REALLY angry. WHY were you angry? Do you still feel the same way? I don't remember. I get pissed off or agitated but never really fully angry. I don't like negativity in my life so being away from potential situations that makes me so angry is perfect for me. That being said, I do have a short temper over stupid things.

3. You are on a flight from Honolulu to Chicago non-stop. There is a fire in the back of the plane. You have enough time to make ONE phone call. Who do you call? What do you tell them? I'll call my Dad. He's always answers his phone, regardless if he's at work or not. I'd tell them the cliche thing like I love you but I'd also tell him to pass the messages to my brother and my mom. My brother and my mom are sometimes difficult to reach.

4. You are at the doctor’s office and he has just informed you that you have approximately one month to live. Do you tell anyone/everyone you are going to die? What do you do with your remaining days? Would you be afraid? I wouldn't be afraid of death, I enjoy where my life is now. I think I would tell my loved ones that I only got one month to live - it's only fair to let them know instead of them finding out the hard way. That way, we can spend the last month creating new memories and trying new experiences instead of living life normally and my loved one having regrets that they didn't do this or that with me when I was still alive.

5. You can have one of the following two things. Which do you choose? Why? Love and Trust. Trust. Trust is the foundation of all relationships, romantic or not. Without trust, there's no reason for me to ever be associated with you. I don't want to be around people that makes me doubt myself and doubt them. And then there's trust, love will come. But, if this question is refer to not having loving, then yes, I'd still choose trust.

6. You are walking down the street on your way to work. There is a dog drowning in the canal on the side of the street. Your boss has told you if you are late even once more, you are fired. Do you take the time to save the dogs life? Why or Why not? I would save the dog's life because it's another life. Being a dog person, I love dogs and I value the lives of humans and animals. If my boss can't understand that, then I wouldn't want to work for a heartless bastard anyways. If you're presented with an opportunity to save a life, do it. It's the right thing to do.

7. Would you rather be hurt by the one you trust the most or the one you love the most? I would rather be hurt by the one I trusted. Just because I trust you doesn't mean you mean a lot to me, you know what I'm saying? But when I love someone, that person can mean the world to me, and that being said, it also means I trusted him/her too. So, essentially, being hurt by sometime you love is like getting stabbed right in the heart - it kills your love and trust for that person.

8. Your best friend confesses that he/she has feelings for you more than just friendship. He/she is falling in love with you. What do you (or did you) do/say? I've been in this situation before. If I friend zone you, there's no way in hell you're getting out. I would honestly tell them straight up I'm not interested in you and we're better off friends. I would avoid them a few days, to be honest, just to let things cool down.

9. Think of the last person who you know that died. You have the chance to give them 1 hour of life back, but you have to give up one year of yours. Do you do it? Why or Why not? N/A. Don't got anyone in my life that died recently or what I was close with.

10. Are you the kind of friend that you would want to have as a friend? Honestly, no. I'm someone that needs to be 100% excited for plans or I won't commit. But, I will be there for you in the time of need, but I deny a lot of requests to hang out if I'm not in the mood.

11. Does love = sex?
No. Been there, done that. Sex can be purely for fun, whereas love is something else. You can love someone without needing to sleep with them.

12.Your boss tells your coworker that they have to let them go because of work shortage, and they are the newest employee. You have been there much longer. Your coworker has a family to support and no other means of income. Do you go to your boss and offer to leave the company? Why or Why not? Truthfully, no, I wouldn't. I earned my position in the company and have been there far longer than my co worker. If I quit, then I wouldn't have an income, regardless if I'm financially well off. I'm sorry but let's be honest, no one would quit for the new guy.

13.When was the last time you told someone HONESTLY how you felt regardless of how difficult it was for you to say? Who was it? What did you have to tell the person? It'll be Sukh and I won't go into details.

14. What would be (or what was) harder for you to tell a member of the opposite sex, you love them or that you do not love them back? That I do not love them back. When I love someone, the three words will come naturally to me.

15. What do you think would be the hardest thing for you to give up? Why would it be hard to lose? If we're talking nonsense, I can't live without sushi because that's my favourite food and the food that I've grown up with. Giving that up would literally cut my intake by 50%.

16. Excluding romantic love, when was the last time you told someone you loved them. Who were they to you? Honestly, I don't remember. I don't say I love you to my friends and family enough and that's a hard habit to break but they know how I feel about them.

17. If there was one moment and one time in the last month what would you change and why? In the month of November?? Probably nothing, haha. Maybe like cut back on my spending, LOL

18.Imagine it is a dark night, you are alone, it is raining outside, you hear someone walking around outside your window. WHO do you wish was there with you? Aside from family, I would honestly say Sukh. He's smart, strong and knows how to defend himself. I would trust my life with him.

19. Would you give a homeless person CPR if they were dying? Why or Why not? No, purely because he's homeless. I'm sorry, but that's disgusting. You don't know where a homeless guy's mouth has been or any diseases/sickness he may carry. On the other hand, if it's someone that looks middle-high class, then yes, I'd trust them more.

21.You are holding onto your grandmother’s hand and the hand of a newborn that you do not know as they hang over the edge of a cliff. You have to let one go to save the other. Who do you let fall to their death? What was your rationale for making the decision? I would save my grandmother, seriously. I know she's old and may not have much years left, but damn, she's my own grandmother compared to a stranger newborn baby. I know I sound heartless but I'm sorry, family first. I won't be able to forgive myself knowing I caused my grandmother's death. I mean, it's still a newborn but it's the fact that I don't have a relation with it. When I end up saving him/her, my life will be with grief of my grandmother's death and the baby wouldn't even remember what happened it him/her.

22. Are you old fashioned? No. I do have "traditional" values but no, not old fashion.

23. When was the last time you were nice to someone and did NOT expect anything in return for it? Probably spending hundreds of dollars on gifts for Sukh. Don't wanna go into details but bottom line was, his happiness was mine too and I like to spoil special people in my life.

24.Which would you choose, true love with a guarantee of a broken heart, or never loved at all? Why? True love with a broken heart. I believe if you haven't felt true love in life, you're missing out and you're doing something wrong. Love is so powerful, so happy and beautiful, and even with a broken heart, I wouldn't want to miss out on that experience that's so rare nowadays. After all, time heals all broken hearts, so I can always love again, right? Compared to never loved at all.

25. If you could do anything or wish anything, what would it be? Wish for unlimited wishes so I can always be on step ahead of the game, LOL. But in all honesty, probably travel the world with the person I love and say, "fuck it all". Peace out of the city and the old memories.

Halloween 2K14

I hate Halloween.

I mean, I enjoy the decorations and the atmosphere it generates around people and of course, the Halloween TV specials, but otherwise, I hate Halloween.

Especially since nowadays all the costumes are soooo slutty revealing, even the little costumes for girls! I remember when my witch dress came all the way down to my knees when I was in the 6th grade and now girls that age are wearing leather short skirts and shorts shorts!

Anyways, I didn't decide to celebrate Halloween this year... literally, this was me:

I did legs day (and yes, my butt hurts!). I bumped into Tania at the gym and we both decided to hit the Downtown strip to see what's happening for Halloween. It's super last minute and as you guys all know, all clubs and social houses are ticketed events because it's Halloween and being the cheapass as I am, I ain't buying no $50 ticket and then spending ten thousands on drinks...

So, we settled for The Cambie - literally the only place in Vancouver that probably wasn't sold out or ticketed! Plus, free coverage too... and drinks are hella cheap there ($4.75 jug of Molsen Canadian?!)

Waiting for the cab during a peak night leads you to do stupid things like take selfies.
Literally, the cab took 30 minutes to get here!

Of course, if you haven't figured it out yet - I'm an 80s girl. My friends are a pilot and a Greek goddess.

Cuz... it's only $5...

Pissed drunk right here.
The night was great! Chatted up with a group of fantastic people (bananas, Freddy, kitty cat and... alien). One of them is a local tattoo artist that has a great portfolio so I might hit him up for my next tat... which... will... be... soon....

NEVER stay out late on Halloween without a car! We spent ages trying to get a cab and because it's Halloween, peak hours are from 3AM - 5AM... yeah... walked around downtown trying to pick a cab UNTIL we got lucky and this cab driver picked us up before ending his shift... so happy!

And, of course... ended the night with (shitty) pho.
This thing probably prevented me from throwing up, LOL.

Hope your Halloween was fantastic!
I can't believe November is here...

A Week of Birthday Shenanigans

This year, I turned 21 last Monday! I'm officially legal worldwide, whoooo! I spent my birthday in Portland for a few days and came back to a week of celebrations with friends. I won't explain much, but I'd let the pictures explain.

Took the train to Portland! Driving was an option but we opted for Amtrak so I could cross it off my bucket list!

First drink in America!

I obviously had to get The Sims 4 down in Portland and it was my birthday gift to myself... ugh, can't stop playing it!

The rest of the photos are from Joe's Apartment and The Pint over the weekend... whoop!

And, ended the weekend with this:

Yup, back to schooling!
