#2014BloggerChallenge - Brand Names vs Drugstore Names

This is going to be a fun subject! Personally, I like to save money whenever I can, and that being said, you'll probably guess I'm more of a "drugstore brand names" girl, or even just a regular no name brand girl.

Make-Up/Beauty Products
As someone that seldom wears make-up and splurge on beauty tools, I can't justify spending $50+ on a MAC foundation or even $20 on the ever so popular make-up blender tool. I can understand beauty gurus, bloggers, and make-up wearers forking over hundreds of dollars a month on beauty products, but I can never spend more than $10 on make-up. Most of my beauty tools such as eyelash curlers, brushes, and even my "make-up blender" is actually from eBay, and most of them are only $0.99 USD. I love Rimmel London so most of my make-up us from their line and each product is under $10 CAD. I purchase only Burt's Bees lip balms. My nail polishes ranges from Sally Hansen to a no name Asian brand. All of these products works great for me.

If you don't know this by now, I have size 2 children feet so straight off the bat, I can't even buy name brand shoes if I wanted to. Most of my clothes are from Forever 21, H&M, Bluenotes, Urban Planet, Garage, Urban Behaviour and Sirens. I have trouble spending more than $30 on a piece of clothing item except for jeans. I'm not a fashion expert but I dress well enough, if I say so myself. I shop smartly so I grab things that are on sale and/or cheap but still fashionable. I guess you can say I normally look for dupes of similar styles. I also enjoy thrifting and buying no name brand clothes because they're fashionable and cheap. I really don't see myself spending $100 on brand names such as Guess, Juicy, LV, etc. when I can get a great looking bag for $20-$30 and a look alike blouse for only $15.

If you must ask, I probably don't cheap out on electronics. I mean, I wouldn't be spending $1,000 on a laptop but I wouldn't get a low brand/no name laptop just to save $200. For all my life, I've only had HP laptops which have worked fine for me. I could have gone with Acer, Lenovo, etc. but HP was the most popular. I have an iPhone 5 and a Samsung tablet. When it came to my tablet, I wanted an iPad but came to the conclusion that the Samsung tablet would be better suited for me and my budget. Would I ever get an iPad? Only to gift to my significant other but I don't see myself using an iPad because I find the Samsung Galaxy more convenient for me.

I love dollar store dupes. Why spent $3 for yellow cleaning gloves when I can get them for $1? Why should I spend the extra $2 just to a Mr. Clean glove when they do the exact same thing?
